Frequently Asked Questions

What is a barre class?

Do I need dance experience?

What should I wear to class?

Barre is a low-impact, full-body workout that combines elements of ballet, Pilates, and strength training. It focuses on small, controlled movements to improve strength, flexibility, and posture.

Not at all! Barre is designed for all levels — no ballet or dance background is required.

We do run a 6 week Barre Foundations course, in small groups of 3 for those who want to build their knowledge and confidence before joining the main class.

Wear comfortable, fitted workout clothes that let you move freely. Grippy socks are recommended for safety and stability.

Do I need to bring anything?

Just yourself and water! We will provide all the equipment you will need.

Is barre a good workout?

Is it safe during pregnancy or with injuries?

Absolutely! Barre helps build long, lean muscles, improves core strength, flexibility, and balance, and is gentle on joints.

Barre can be modified for most stages of pregnancy and certain injuries. Always consult your doctor first, and tell your instructor before class so they can offer adjustments.

What’s your age policy?

Participants must be 18 to attend. Participants aged 16 can attend with an accompanying attending adult.

What do I need to do before my first class?

Ensure you have completed the necessary health information of your booking form and be sure to state any health conditions or injuries on there. Other than that, you just need to show up!

Do you offer class packs?

Yes! We offer single classes and class packs - with the class packs being better value for money.
